Carpe Diem

Fluidity, form and finesse describe Leon's style when creating images.

Always having an eye for art from an early age, Leon turned this fascination into his studies. Displaying a natural ability for life drawing he focused on creating anatomically accurate drawings of the human form using artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo as his inspiration.  During a City & Guilds Photography course that Leon was placed on as an extra qualification to his GNVQ Art & Design Advanced and 'A' Level course he realised an extra talent in the field of photography.  Taking the basic techniques of thirds and leading lines, he used this thereon in his everyday photographs.  Without knowing, over the years a hunger for creating better images grew and simply composing an image correctly seemed inadequate.  A desire to learn and master the field took place and thus began the birth of his website - Leon Day Images.

His new career path was given an immediate boost with the appearance on the Discovery Real Time programme 'Hotshots' with the late Lord Patrick Lichfield, the world famous portrait photographer.  The show focused on different areas of photography each week, with Lord Lichfield giving three photographers a master class in portraiture and the chance to visit his prestigious studio in London.

Shortly after, Leon began working at the Blue Chip Studios, learning the subtleties of studio lighting and one-to-one and family portraiture.  After developing his hand at macro shots and landscape work, he began covering commercial work for catalogues and websites, and shooting weddings

Based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, the word has now spread of the quality produced by Leon
Day Images and opportunities to cover weddings up and down the U.K and Europe are some of the many exciting prospects on the horizon.

Leons philisophy has always been to enjoy the moment and live for today, and brings this sense of fun when photographing people which creates a better end result.
