Weddings come in all different shapes, sizes, themes and venues and with Caroline & Dave's it was a small, intimate affair for 10 people at a new venue I'd not covered before (but always wanted to) - The Bath Priory Hotel in Weston, Bath. It's a gorgeous venue a stone's throw from Royal Victoria Park but with enough seclusion for a quiet relaxing time. It's also a Michelin-star restaurant with Executive Chef, Michael Nizzero, serving up the mouth watering delights.
My coverage at the wedding was only for 2 hours but as my packages are flexible to allow for this it was no problem. I just made sure I worked quickly to capture as many photos as possible to give them.
The ceremony was inside the hotel and had some emotional speeches from family members and rings provided by the two young nephews, one of which wanted to keep the nice, shiny ring for himself! After some quick persuassion he settled for just the box and the ceremony could go on!
The huge gardens behind the hotel would provide the backdrop for the majority of the photos after the ceremony and the weather was still on our side, although the wind was causing me a few problems with my lights. Fortunately, Dave's dad, John, kindly offered to help plus had many years experience working in TV as a lighting technician.
The gardens at the hotel are huge, offering plenty of open space, small archways, ponds & fountains, massive trees and beautiful flowers in full bloom so there was so much there to vary the shots, not to mention the hotel itself. I could've shot there all day if time allowed as there are some amazing works of art in the dining room and bar, and luxurious furnishings throughout the hotel.
Caroline and Dave were very happy with the photos they received in the time we had and left a really nice review on my Guestbook which you can read here.
